Makeup Artists! HELP! PLEASE!?

My dress is a royal blue, satan, long evening dress. Nearly open back with beaded strings.

I don't know what kind of makeup to do. For a start I don't know a lot about makeup.

I have blonde hair and greeny-blue eyes, averagely light complexion.

I want to look really great and sexy and also stand out from the crowd. It is for a Graduation Ball.

Please Help.

HI there, I am a makeup artist- 15 years experience so here goes...Firstly you NEVER, EVER match your makeup to the dress colour! Your makeup should match you!

you want a good foundation that will set the base for the rest of your makeup. Nothing over the top but just enough to even your skin tone. Apply a light setting powder all over to set the foundation.

Eyes - you will need 2 colours - pink/brown neutral colour and a darker brown/black.

Apply the neutral colour all over your eye lid. With the darker shade apply from the corner of your eye to the middle in a sort of V shape. Blend the inside with your neutral colour so it just looks like a natural progression. Make the colour darker in the outer corner of your eye to lighter in the middle. This will give you a smokey look to your eyes.

Eyeliner - apply half way along the lower eye and blend in with a cotton tip so it doesnt look like a straight line under your eye. Again slightly heavier in the corner. Also apply to the top corner of your eye and half way along blending as you would the bottom.

Mascara- black mascara. Make sure you use an eye lash curler first. 2 coats of black mascara to the top and 1 to the bottom.

Highlight under your eyebrow with a light silvery grey to really lift your eyes. Just a small amount directly under the eyebrow arch to the outer end.

Blush- again keep it neutral, a light rosy/bronze colour to the apples of your cheeks only.

Lips- look for a pink tone with a bit of colour to it in your skin tone. Something like a rose etc. Make sure you use a lip liner and apply your lipstick with a brush to make sure it stays on well.

All this should take you no longer than 30 mins start to finish and you will dazzle! I use a brand called chimare mineral makeup for all of my makeup artistry work and everyone falls in love with it!

Thats it! Enjoy your ball.

I am in cosmetology school... im not a makeup artist YET.... but a very soft smokey eye will make your look, and nude lips.

im no makeup artist, but i do know some stuff about makeup, what can i say,, im a highschooler.

well, one common look would be a blue to match your dress and red lipstick, its a classic look.

maybe a sorta sheer silvery look

or shadow eyes.

but i like the classic look the most.

I think you should keep your make-up simple with some smokey light/medium grey and pearl shadow and do some sexy bridget bardott sex kitten style liquid eye liner on your upper lashes. The lips should be a semi-gloss nude like Rimmel lipstick in shade 'birthday suite'.

because of your greeny blue eyes i suggest a green or blue liner full on top half on bottom

Whatever you do, don't match your dress with your makeup.

I'd suggest a smokey color, or natural/neutral colors
