i know it is a terribly shallow question but recently I've felt like crap(plus I live in russia where girls are just hot). I know that attractiveness and beauty is defined on a person to person basis but i do think that there are some attributes that can define beauty almost categorically (basically, absolutely). I think most people I've met have some attractive quality to them, so I'm not curious to know whether people think redheaded people CAN be attractive (because most people can be and are attractive) but rather if redheads are within the definition of what makes a person attractive in a very shallow, abstract way. I mean, people fantasize about blondes and sexy brunettes but do they do the same with reds?Also, I should note that I mean natural reds- that means I'm asking whether red hair and the physical characteristics that generally accompany it

As with anyone of any colored hair, generally people take in the whole picture when determining their attraction to someone. My Dad , however, even at the age of 88, still thinks redheads are the ultimate. I too have always been attracted to redheaded people, or notice them more. I think that , because of their fair skin and features, they seem more natural and approachable, like a brightly colored flower in a garden of color ,that you are drawn to. It almost calls you over to admire it. Hollywood was full of gorgeous redheads real or not, Lucille Ball, Rita Hayworth,Greer Garson,Katherine Hepburn,Maureen O'Hara,Rhonda Fleming,Molly Ringwald,Ann-Margaret,Susan Sarandon,Meagan Follows(of Anne of Green Gables fame)and HELLO! Marcia Cross on Desperate Housewives, the hottest housewife anywhere. I find redheaded men attractive also. Both of my nephews had a friend that had red hair,and whenever his friends came over , he was the center of attention. I think that most Irish women, have a kind of earthy quality to them , in the way that Italian women do. It's a natural sultryness that comes across from the pure looks of their heritage. Most american women feel they need much adorning to stand out in a crowd, even if they have an outgoing personality, due to the fact that they are always trying to look like someone else, instead of letting their own natural beauty shine. I have dated people, that some would consider homely , but they had such inner beauty that the outside became who they were inside and I was just as proud to show them off , when out on a date. I think that preferences and beauty are two totally different things. One is always beautiful to someone, but unless there is beauty in who they are as a person, the shiny polish of the silver starts to tarnish and they don't look as beautiful as you thought. So ,in answer to your question, it takes all colors to make a rainbow,and who doesn't love a rainbow. And like the Cyndi Lauper song says, "Your true colors, are beautiful, like a rainbow."

I think they are - as a natural redhead I've had a lot of men ask me out and then tell me that they were dying to date a redhead.
